Thanks for sharing this, Jules. It's funny, I had a very similar introduction into eastern thought / philosophy via my mother growing up and continue to carry similar sentiments in my daily life to this day.
I liked this. Have you read Cruel Optimism by Lauren Berlant? We did it at uni last year, I think you'd find it interesting. It's almost what you are describing. What you desire is what stops you flourishing.
It’s really interesting. We were asked to write a response to it but I honestly can’t post it here. It’s ugly on me, which is actually a theme of my writing. But it is too much to post publicly
I absolutely love how sometimes I can almost feel what you must have been feeling while writing certain parts of your pieces. It’s a different kind of relatability… but it is what it is :)
BUT I am actually invested in Pikachu and their mother’s relationship now haha
I had something that happened to me last night that crossed my trust levels. Just a little bit but it was enough to throw me off today… until, I wrote my article and also a new music instrumental. I am able to take the negativity and creative positivity from it… sometimes everyone need to find thst one thing, that flip every back. 🤍
Very profound! I completely understand this! I learned to teach somatic experiencing because I tried the meditation and bhuddism route and so much of the community I encountered was very esoteric and full of spiritual bypassing. Meditation is a great tool but just as any tool it can be misused. Manifestation is just prayer in a different colored robe. Is prayer helpful, for some it can be but it’s not the whole story. Thanks for being vulnerable!
There is a profound, almost tragic irony in the 'perpetual analyst' needing a day off from their own brain.
Love me some tragic irony, not gonna lie
How the f* did you know I was singing bee gees?
I can read your mind 👁️

I haven’t, but I’ll certainly check it out now! Thank you :)

Poor Pikachu will have to wait now hahaha. Thank you sweetheart 🫶🏻
Like the late, great Tupac said, “You gotta keep yo head up”
I’m trying!! 😂
If you need a set of hands to help, probably will need to find some closer. I learned you can’t mail hands
Technically you can, but gotta find a way to do it anonymously or you’ll find yourself in big, big trouble
